Writing Task; The Propriety of Advertising

Recently, a great deal of attention has been paid to the effect of advertisements. Therefore, there is a growing discussion over whether advertising should be helpful for our needs. Some people state that people consume more products due to advertisements. However, there are some individuals who do not consider it is desirable. In this essay, the issues of effect of advertising will be examined carefully.

The first point to consider is the fact that people often purchase a product due to its advertisement. For example, in the current age, we have to choose one of the many similar productions. When buying it, we often require some reason for purchasing it. We would like to know how it is better than the other products. Accordingly, I sometimes check some websites in order to know the reputation of the product that I try to buy.

On the other hand, there is no doubt that there are many things, which we can live without. If we do not have to purchase a product, we want to buy it due to its advertisement. For instance, in Japan, more people purchase smartphone games in order to kill their time. Some people do not consider that it is desirable to spend much time and money playing those games. In Japan, however, it is widely believed that the best way to improve economy is by spending much money. Therefore, it can be said that Japanese economy might be getting better due to consuming those games.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasis that advertisement has been successful in more consuming products and even useless things. However, sometimes that makes an economy better, so I cannot totally deny with the effect of advertising.
